HARP Loot Illustration Preview

Once again I have a few more illustrations to show you all. This is for an upcoming expansion book from the High Adventure Role Playing product line published by Guild Companion Publications. I was only able to do five this time round as other commitments and my wife's continued ill health has had my  family I somewhat stretched. Below is a sample from the set, you can view the rest at my blogfolio.

Keeping Pace

Well I've been flat out doing assignments and keeping up the pace with my illos. I STILL haven't picked up a paint brush yet! Anyway, I've been thinking weather I should to continue posting my thumbs anymore. Perhaps I should concentrate on adding more art to my portfolio blog instead of blabbering around here.. in fact I'm wondering if I should just delete this entire blog altogether, I mean who really cares right?

Anyway, for now here is a few more to amuse yourself with.

Destination Diploma

Well I've just finished the first week of my two year course for a Diploma of Commercial Arts Graphics Design via correspondence. It's going to be a long two years I'm guessing, juggling a full time job, family life and doing illustrations for GCP as well. But I'm confident that I'll get through it all, and by the end of it I'll have a definite direction as to where my new occupation will be. In the mean time I'll still continue to doodle in my sketch book like Mr. Sqiggle after a few lines of snorting graphite. Anyway here are a few thumbs from the beginnings of another new sketch book.

HARP College of Magic's Illustration Preview

''Eye of the Wolfmother''

Well, I've just finished another batch of illustrations for Guild Companion Publications, eight in all. This is for the "College of Magic's" expansion book for HARP fantasy. This one is pretty self explanatory...it's all about magic! Once again by the generosity of Nicholas Caldwell, he has granted me permission to show you some of the works that will be included in this upcoming book. To see the rest of these illustrations you can find them on my new blogger portfolio page here.

Throttling Back but Not on the Thumbs

I've been somewhat busy of late with doing illos and with life but I always have a bit of time for myself to let my mind and hand idle with a pencil in my sketch book. I've only a few pages to go before I need a new sketch book to doodle in. I always feel good when I finish a sketch book, I'm not sure why though. Perhaps it's because I feel that I'm actually doing something and keeping the creative juices flowing from my mind to hand to sketch book. Last night I finished the last of my commissioned illustrations and I feel good that they're behind me. I really want to get my brushes out and get painting, it's been too long and something seems to always get in the way. But I'm determined this time, even if it comes to throttling back on other things. In fact I will have to throttle back but that is for another post. So here is a few more inspirations to bore you with :)

A Shipload of Thumbs!

Before I get back to doing more illustrations for another upcoming book, I'll post a number of thumbs from my sketchbook. I'm always doodling to see what I can come up with and what might be good for a future painting.

The above I did as a concept for a painting that I want my son to be featured in.
